Purpose and service

Why I'm Running for Lowell City Council

I am running for Lowell City Council — Ward 4, Position 2 because I believe Lowell's growth deserves practical, forward-looking leadership that connects development decisions with infrastructure, public safety, essential services, and the character of our community. City resources must be managed carefully, with attention to both immediate costs and the financial obligations future residents will inherit.

Since February 2020, my service on the Lowell Planning Commission has given me firsthand experience reviewing land-use and development proposals and understanding how decisions move from public discussion to final action. That experience has reinforced my belief that careful preparation, clear communication, and meaningful citizen participation lead to stronger outcomes. I want to bring those principles to the City Council.

My Three Key Messages

The principles guiding my campaign.

Experience, openness, and responsible planning should guide how Lowell prepares for the future.

Experience and judgment

Prepared, informed decisions

Each proposal deserves an independent evaluation based on facts, research, community needs, and long-term consequences. I will ask difficult questions, consider different perspectives, and judge issues on their individual merits—not on personal relationships or outside pressure.

Transparency and accountability

Government residents can understand

Residents should have meaningful opportunities to provide input before important decisions are made, and participation should be actively encouraged. Open communication, respectful dialogue, and clear explanations of how and why decisions are reached help build accountable government and public trust.

Responsible growth

Growth that works for Lowell

Growth must be balanced with infrastructure, public safety, essential city services, and Lowell's character. Fiscal responsibility means examining immediate costs, long-term obligations, and whether each expenditure provides meaningful value to residents while supporting Lowell's long-term sustainability.

My Commitment to Lowell Residents

Listen carefully. Prepare thoroughly. Serve responsibly.

I believe good government requires more than making decisions at public meetings. It requires listening to residents, asking difficult questions, examining the facts, and explaining the reasoning behind decisions. Whether we agree or disagree on a particular issue, every resident deserves to be treated with respect and have their concerns taken seriously.

I will encourage residents to participate early enough for their input to matter and remain accessible after decisions are made. I will also remain willing to reconsider a position when new facts or meaningful public input justify doing so. My responsibility will be to serve Lowell as a whole while giving Ward 4 residents a strong, responsive voice on the City Council.

Open communication begins here.

Your Voice Matters

I want to hear from you. Whether you have questions about Lowell's growth, concerns about city services, or ideas for strengthening our community, I welcome the conversation. Good decisions begin with listening, and your perspective matters.
